The Special Events Coordinator is part of the Banner Health Foundation team. In this role, you will assist with the planning and execution of special events, including consulting, budgeting, and post-event reporting as designated by leadership. You will research, identify and recommend potential venues for designated special events and manage vendor and supplier relationships. You will be responsible for administrative support, preparing and maintaining reports and required documentation and records for all designated events, including management of the designated special event’s budget. This includes formulating and executing plans for effective utilization of available funds, equipment and supplies. -Supports Special Events Manager by coordinating special event logistics, development activities, appointments, administrative details, meetings and other engagements related to the success of Banner Health Foundation events. -Prepares correspondence and reports as needed. This may include taking and transcribing dictation involving general business and healthcare vocabulary and a limited range of specialized terminology. This also includes distributing various reports, including department project updates, in a timely and accurate manner. -Coordinates and implements marketing strategies for each Foundation special event to reach attendance and financial goals. -Serves as a resource to customer inquiries, both via phone and in person, directs to appropriate parties. Provides detailed information to the customer, requiring detailed knowledge of department’s area of responsibility and general knowledge of company policies, practices, and operations. -Manages leadership’s and/or department’s calendar, including coordination of meetings and appointments. -May develop marketing materials and prepare summary data of attendance. -May reconcile related invoices and expenses and arrange travel and hotel accommodations as necessary.

Seeking a creative, energetic professional with experience supporting and/or coordinating logistics for special events, public relations and/or marketing initiatives. Must have excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with departmental personnel and interact with the members of the community. Must have a working knowledge of personal software packages to perform the administrative functions described above. Must have the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment, while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Candidate must have at least three years of event planning, marketing or public relations experience, ideally in the hospitality, entertainment or nonprofit sector.
