Working closely with the Director, Communications & Marketing, the Senior Manager, Marketing Communications & Education Programs provides daily oversight of marketing, member communications and educational program implementation, and the staff members responsible for developing and producing the deliverables. This includes coaching and mentoring of staff, and critical review and editing of staff deliverables to add value and improve positioning. In addition, this Senior Manager will develop and write content for a variety of channels to support organizational communication goals and Work Group solutions, as well as market NCPDP education programs and events. This requires excellent writing and positioning skills for both short- and long-form content as well as skill in adapting content for an integrated communications strategy. Assignments can range from writing website content to press releases and presentation scripts. In collaboration with the Director, Communications & Marketing, this position also is responsible for planning overall content and formats for educational programs that meet NCPDP member needs, expand our reach to market segments underrepresented at NCPDP, and support the goals of NCPDP’s strategic plan. This individual will serve as a liaison to the Annual Conference Programming Subcommittee. This individual will work with NCPDP members, as well as staff at all levels of the organization. In addition to having excellent writing and communication skills, this individual must embody NCPDP’s core value of collaboration, think strategically, and manage multiple projects and timelines.

* Responsible for daily oversight of Marketing Communications & Education Programs staff to ensure that their deliverables for member and non-member communication, marketing materials and educational programs are timely, accurate, polished and effective. This assumes review and edit of deliverables to add value and improve positioning. * Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring of Marketing Communications & Education Programs staff to ensure continued improvements in their work and assist them in assumption of new responsibilities/growth opportunities. * In collaboration with the Director, Communications & Marketing, plan overall content strategy and formats for educational programs including, but not limited to, webinars and Educational Summit. Develop call for proposals for Annual Conference. * Serve as liaison to Programming Subcommittee for Annual Conference. Facilitate the Subcommittee’s review of proposals and help ensure that its selection of track session topics integrates with other NCPDP educational programs and supports organizational goals. * Develop and manage implementation of project-specific marketing communications plans for Annual Conference, Educational Summit, Standards Certification Program, and webinar series to increase attendance/participation, help participants realize optimal value, and generate potential memberships. * Ensure and coordinate use of all appropriate channels for communications and marketing messages (e.g., email, print, company websites, social media) to engage audiences. * Collaborate with NCPDP’s Graphic Design and Multimedia Specialist to develop appropriate visual support for graphics needs. * Recommend and implement Hot Topics for and fresh content for MyNCPDP Dashboard. * Recommend and oversee implementation of enhancements to the NCPDP Event App. * Assist with script writing for Annual Conference (e.g. scripts for general session, awards presentations, track session introductions, special events). * Provide message development and writing support for Work Group and Task Group communication related to white papers, surveys, calls for participation, etc. as requested by the Director, Communications & Marketing or the Senior Vice President, Strategic Planning & Communication. * Under the direction of the Director, Communications & Marketing and the Senior Vice President, Strategic Planning and Communication, provide research, message development and writing support for organizational communication that positions NCPDP for leadership in healthcare standards and solutions and helps advance NCPDP’s goals. (e.g. Annual Report, speaking engagements, bylines). * Coordinate approvals on marketing, including messaging, graphics and plans with the Director, Communications & Marketing. * Manage timelines to meet priorities established by the Director, Communications & Marketing, adjusting as necessary to meet changing priorities.

* Must possess exceptional verbal communication and writing skills and be adept at the use of traditional, digital and social media communication channels. * Must understand the big picture and how to support business goals. * Strong organizational skills and people skills for successful coaching and mentoring. * Highly collaborative work style and ability to establish good working relationships and interact effectively, respectfully and courteously with a wide range of people, including staff, NCPDP members, Board members, committee chairs, guest speakers, and general public.

* Bachelor’s degree, preferably in communications, marketing, journalism, English or related field, or any combination of education and experience providing the marketing communications and management knowledge and skills for successful performance. * Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare industry. * Knowledge of pharmacy segment and healthcare IT is preferred, as is knowledge of new communications technology. * At least ten (10) years of experience in marketing/communications content development/writing, communications program management and supervision/coaching of communications staff. * Experience in planning association- or company-sponsored education programs for professionals is a plus. * Experience in a non-profit environment also a plus.
