Performs a wide variety of technical duties in support of the Marketing and Communications Division functions, including skilled technical work in the production of live and taped video programs, operation of audio and video equipment for City-wide public information and communication purposes, and graphic design to develop marketing materials for City events and departments.

• Develops print and electronic marketing materials to help promote City events and departments • Produces, distributes, and broadcasts live and taped programs for City-wide public information and communication purposes and the City’s government access channel. • Directs, produces, and digitally records public meetings; coordinates technical setup of City equipment, including cameras, lighting, audio, electronics, and peripheral equipment; provides technical and production support as needed. • Directs, shoots, and edits audio-visual productions and promotional videos. • Operates video equipment related to television studios, control rooms, field productions, non-linear video edit systems and related equipment and software. • Performs post-production activities, including editing, graphics, and special effects. • Assures that all audio and video outputs meet industry standards and FCC guidelines. • Supports the relationship between the City of Maricopa and the public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with citizens, visitors, and City staff; promotes the City values and priorities, and complies with all City policies and procedures. • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of: • Various video production procedures, broadcast production techniques and related systems and equipment • Audio and lighting system principles and operations • Public access television broadcasting procedures, equipment, and FCC quality standards • Studio & field production • Public meeting coverage • Graphic Design development and implementation • Using a computer and related software applications • Broadcast-quality video camera operation, non-linear editing and/or practices of • Writing and producing video projects • Applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, ordinances, statutes, and regulations Ability to: • Operate audio-visual equipment appropriate to assigned duties • Produce, direct, write, shoot, and edit video productions. • Produce quality videos from concept to completion. • Maintain video and audio archives • Develop graphics and marketing materials for various forms of media • Demonstrate integrity, ingenuity and inventiveness in the performance of assigned tasks

Education and Experience • Associate's Degree in Communications, Broadcasting or a related field, or technical school training in electronics, video production and graphic design; three years of video production and technical communications experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS • Valid Arizona driver's license • Ability to see full color spectrum
