Girl Scouts–Arizona Cactus-Pine Council (GSACPC) is Arizona's pre-eminent organization dedicated to all girls, serving nearly 20,000 girls and 10,000 adult volunteers in central and northern Arizona. GSACPC is chartered by Girl Scouts of the USA. The Marketing/Communications Coordinator will be a dynamic, self-starter focused on engaging audiences today, while also keeping an eye on tomorrow’s consumer trends, primarily across earned and owned media channels. Ultimately, efforts will elevate the message and visibility of the Council, their programs, members, and events.

Essential Functions • Online community manager: With a firm grasp of available web/content tools and social media platforms, is the primary monitor/responder across Council’s Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn accounts. o Help develop and report on annual social media strategy. Maintain content calendar while supporting a joint-planning process. Measure, evaluate and learn/adjust. o Express the Girl Scout personality across Council channels and be kind, firm and level-headed. o Coordinate and facilitate content development through video and photography (includes some nights and weekends), as well as by collaborating with Graphic Designer. o Mine posts, messages and email submissions for stories/content to be filed and/or repurposed across GSACPC channels. Continuously find solutions, provide creativity and proactive ideas. o Support the maintenance of the Council website through Adobe Experience Manager platform and take ownership of blog. Coordinate paid social media campaigns. o Utilize Google Analytics for ongoing evaluation/reporting of website performance. o Respond to inbound email inquiries. • Work collaboratively to support the team in executing effective marketing/communications. Support a project planning process every step of the way – from development and approvals to execution and evaluation. o Assist with development of tactics within strategic plans. o Draft key messages, collateral materials, email promotions, event web pages. Support creative development by compiling project briefs for design when necessary. o Coordinate recurring cross-functional planning meetings. Develop agendas, take notes and report out. Identify next steps/action items and ensure follow-through. o Assist with requests for capturing content, sharing or utilizing it in marketing materials and publications accordingly. o Compile, review and/or edit content for marketing emails, including but not limited to monthly emails, assigned campaign-related emails and others as needed. Gather all assets and work with appropriate team members to get emails designed and deployed. o Help draft timeline and content outline for each issue of triannual magazine. Source, write and edit stories. Gather all assets for design. o Help maintain production calendars, and ensure tasks are completed on time and in budget. o Holds monitoring, measurement, and reporting as a key follow-through on all assigned events and initiatives. Capture measurement data and work with team to analyze and report back to internal and external partners. o Remain current with GSUSA Marcom materials, participate in webinars and proactively leverage available resources. • Support traditional media relations and outreach across the board. o Identify stories based on news cycle, relativity, council priorities. Fulfill media requests. o Draft and edit stories and editorials. o Help recruit, train, and coordinate media girls and volunteers. o Monitor publications, web alerts, social media and vendor reports weekly for print, online and broadcast placements. Maintain coverage clips database. o Train to serve as secondary spokesperson. o Stay up-to-date with industry topics and trends. • Attend weekly and monthly team meetings and collaborate with team and other staff on new ideas, directions, and venues for marketing and communications overall. • Demonstrates fluency (reading, writing, speaking) in Spanish. • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, the Girl Scout program. • Willingness to fully participate in learning organization culture, including staff development opportunities.

• Experience with social media and content creation: photo, video and design software, or tools like Canva at minimum. Utilizes available online tools and works collaboratively to translate ideas into effective, polished content. • Solid written and oral communications skills, familiar with AP style. Ability to organize thoughts and communicate in a professional manner, both verbally and in writing. Adaptable to specific brand and editorial guidelines. • Project management, including abilities to organize multiple tasks or processes, follow up/follow-through and meet deadlines and budget parameters. • Experience with media measurement, analyzing data and reporting, and willingness to learn new tools. Proficiency with Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram required; AEM, Google Analytics/Ads, Salesforce, MarketingCloud preferred. • Must be computer literate (working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Experience with all or part of PC Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) preferred. • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, design or related field. Minimum 2-3 years professional experience required. • Fluency in Spanish and English preferred.
