The ON Semiconductor global communications team has an opening for a copyeditor. The individual will serve as the primary editor for the company’s internal communications to employees. The copyeditor will work closely with the internal communications manager, and regularly with employees and leaders in all departments within the company. The copyeditor will be located in Phoenix, Arizona and will be a member of the corporate strategy and marketing department.

The copyeditor will be responsible for the following: •Reviewing, editing and/or rewriting of internal company content and messaging that reaches all employees •Proofreading ON Semiconductor’s monthly employee newsletter, named The Circuit •Transforming technical verbiage into easily digestible communications for employees throughout the world •Learning and maintaining the company’s voice throughout all communications •Acting as a brand ambassador to communicate our company’s brand standards and messaging standards at all levels within the company •Working with project managers to develop communications that execute on project objectives •Assisting with communication schedules and plans for various projects •Working with the internal visual design team to develop design elements in support of company messaging when necessary •Supporting all departments and business units in the company

•Extremely strong writing and editing skills. •Ability to translate technical information into coherent communications and work with technical audiences effectively. •Self-starter with the ability to balance multiple assignments at once. •Should be confident and comfortable interacting with a wide range of people and personalities. •Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. •Knowledge of the semiconductor industry is a strong plus. •Experience working in large, technical organization is a plus. •High level of professionalism, integrity and ethics.

•5-7 years of experience in copyediting or highly-related experience. •High level of knowledge in AP Style writing (AP Style test may be administered as part of the interview process). •Bachelor’s degree in journalism, writing, communications, public relations or a related discipline.
