The conference manager acts as the overall project manager for conferences and other events hosted by the Society. The position is responsible for coordinating various requirements such as vendors, venues, registration and attendance, speaker travel accommodations, sponsor exhibits, and other event details. This non-supervisory position requires extensive time management and prioritization, internal and external customer service, exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and attention to detail.

1. Manages all tasks related to the creation and delivery of events including updates to database and website, and communication with venues, sponsors, speakers, staff and committee members. 2. Communicates with event sponsors to ensure contract specifications are delivered according to deadlines. 3. Ensures appropriate and timely communication with committee members, ASCPA staff, venues, vendors, sponsors, and speakers. 4. Manage and execute the marketing strategy for all conferences and events in coordination with impacted departments to include editing promotional content. 5. Assists with the creation of the annual budget and reports monthly expenses, revenue and accruals. 6. Provides staff leadership to special interest sections to identify Continuing Professional Education (CPE) content and presenters for conferences, seminars, webinars, roundtables and articles. 7. Recruits and trains volunteers for Society events. 8. Assists with the preparation and delivery of the annual CPE catalog and creation of the annual schedule. 9. Assists with maintenance and cleanliness of learning center and conference room before and after CPE programs. 10. Other duties as assigned.

• Must have bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. • Must have 3-5 years of prior meeting planning experience, association experience preferred. • Must possess excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills. • Knowledge of databases, software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. • Must maintain a positive attitude toward customers and ASCPA staff. • Must be able to perform these functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Physical Requirements o Must be able to work a 40-hour week, plus overtime and/or irregular hours as required to complete assignments. May stand or sit for extended periods of time. Must work with limited supervision using own judgment and discretion on routine matters. Must transport oneself to and from other areas of the facility and travel to other divisions when necessary. Must be able to read and write English; perform math calculations; have good visual acuity; think logically; pull, push, lift and carry various objects. Environmental Requirements o The office environment consists of separate offices, conference room and modular office space. This location includes adequate lighting, heating/cooling, equipment and furniture in good working condition. Due to the nature of the professional association and its constant push for change to stay in the forefront of the profession, this setting will require flexibility in thinking and acceptance of change.
