Overview Phoenix-based CopperPoint Insurance Companies is seeking a motivated Communications Intern to join our organization. This is a paid opportunity for a college student pursuing a degree in Community Relations, Public Relations or Marketing to acquire experience and build their portfolio using leadership, volunteer management, event planning, writing and social media skills for an organization of almost 500 insurance professionals.

This position will require strong organizational and time management skills and a working knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram and LinkedIn. Public relations and marketing skills, experience with community nonprofits as a volunteer or event organizer is a plus. Responsibilities Coordinate/support employee volunteer and donation activities and events Attend business meetings to research topics for OnPoint, the company’s news intranet for employees Write blog posts, feature stories and news releases on community and charitable activities as directed by supervisors Assist with coordinating and promoting company-sponsored events Attend planning, department, and external meetings when possible Take photographs and video of events, share on social media Hours: 40 hours/week for 10 weeks, at $15 per hour May 21, 2019 through July 19, 2019 Weekly meetings with supervisor(s) to monitor progress Ability to work at events About CopperPoint Insurance Companies Rated A- "Excellent" by A.M. Qualifications Junior or Senior in college, or recent college graduate Excellent writing, reporting and communication skills Strategic communications skills; business communications skills a plus Basic knowledge of web design and posting Professionalism and punctuality Self-motivated Creative A writing sample will need to be submitted during the interview process

College student or recent graduate. Preview communications internship experience preferred.
