The IABC Phoenix breakfast and panel event scheduled for May 1st has been indefinitely been postponed. The action is the direct result of The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) recommendation against holding any events or group gatherings of 50 or more people across the United States over the next eight weeks.
Individuals with reservations may hold on to their tickets until the event is rescheduled or cancel and request a full refund.
During this time, IABC Phoenix will continue to monitor the World Health Organization (WHO), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and local health agencies for the latest developments relating to COVID-19 and will continue to follow the guidance of local and state government and public health officials.
Changes in the communications landscape can represent a huge challenge for city leaders, who — despite the shifting landscape — must be responsive to residents, while balancing the needs of a diverse populace. It also represents a huge opportunity for those nimble enough to keep adapting to the times and stay out in front of new technologies.
Join IABC Phoenix for a breakfast at the Mayor’s office where her communications team will discuss what it takes to manage the narrative for the Mayor of the nation’s fifth largest city. The team will discuss:
• Their roles and responsibilities
• Challenges and successes
• How they leverage new opportunities to shape the narrative
• How they have honed the city’s listening skills
• How they integrate communications and service delivery and
• How they integrate authenticity into social media
Who will be speaking?
• Annie DeGraw, Communications Director
• Cepand Alizadeh, Community Relations Director
**Public parking is available directly across from Phoenix City Hall. Attendees will need to go through security in the lobby when they arrive.
